The Wall That Heals, a mobile exhibit and healing experience, is coming to Evansville.
Evansville, IN, October 30, 2026 —
Evansville, IN – A significant mobile exhibit, known as The Wall That Heals, is scheduled to arrive in Evansville, offering residents an opportunity to experience a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. The exhibit serves as both an educational and healing experience for veterans, their families, and the public.
The Wall That Heals is a program of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF). It is a 375-foot-long, 7.5-foot-tall replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The exhibit allows visitors to experience the emotional impact of the Memorial in a setting closer to home. The names of the 58,281 service members who died in service or remain missing in action are inscribed on the panels of the Wall.
The mobile nature of The Wall That Heals allows it to travel across the United States, bringing a piece of the national memorial to communities that may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit the original. Each visit typically lasts for several days, providing ample time for reflection and remembrance. Visitors can search for the names of friends and family members who served and died in Vietnam.
In addition to the Wall itself, the exhibit often includes an introductory film and a museum exhibit that tells the story of the Vietnam War, the Wall, and the impact of the war on American society. It also provides resources and support for healing and remembrance. The VVMF’s mission is to honor and preserve the legacy of those who served in the Vietnam War and to educate the public about the war and its continuing impact.
The exact dates and location for the Evansville visit were not provided in the summary, but the arrival of such an exhibit is generally anticipated as a solemn and moving event for the community. It offers a space for reflection, education, and a chance for individuals to connect with the history and sacrifices associated with the Vietnam War. Further details regarding the specific schedule and venue are expected to be announced.
