Two Birds, a new, pasture raised egg brand that donates a portion of every purchase to help end childhood hunger, is making its debut in select grocery retailers starting in September. Two Birds eggs are from pasture raised hens on family farms and are certified humane, with no added hormones or antibiotics. These new eggs will be available at Wegmans starting September 21 and expanding to additional grocers in the coming months.

Two Birds was created to help close the weekend hunger gap many children experience. More than 14 million children face food insecurity in the U.S., according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s “Household Food Security in the United States 2024” report. Further, it was reported in a 2024 USDA press release that nearly 30 million children receive free or reduced-price school meals every school day, and for more than half of them, those meals are their primary source of daily nutrition. In partnership with national nonprofit Blessings in a Backpack, Two Birds will help feed students on weekends during the school year.
“With a Two Birds purchase, shoppers make one simple choice that does twice the good. They feed their families a delicious, ethically sourced egg and also help feed a child facing weekend hunger. This isn’t a limited-time mission. It’s built into every carton, every week,” said Bill Curtis, Two Birds’ Vice President of Innovation.
Wegman’s is the first retailer to carry the new egg brand. The Two Birds 12-egg carton can be found in grocers’ fresh egg section. Track the brand’s progress toward reducing hunger and find a growing list of retailers at the Two Birds website.
Growing the Mission One Carton, One Child, at a Time
When the school week ends, the need doesn’t. Two Birds and Blessings in a Backpack share a simple goal: ensuring kids have the food they need on weekends. Through a network of more than 1,100 community-driven programs, Blessings provided more than 2.7 million hunger-free weekends during the 2025-2026 school year alone. Since 2009, the organization has served more than one million children nationwide. Through its partnership with Two Birds, Blessings will reach even more children this school year and beyond.
“Every child deserves to leave school on Friday without worrying what they will eat until they return on Monday. Ending weekend hunger is something we can do together,” said Erin Kerr, CEO of Blessings in a Backpack. “It takes businesses, communities, and individuals coming together to make sure kids have the food they need every day of the week. We’re grateful to Two Birds for helping us support more children while bringing greater awareness to the nutrition gap that exists for millions of children.”
About Two Birds Eggs
Two Birds was created on a simple idea: the food you buy for your family can help feed someone else’s too. The new, pasture raised egg brand donates a portion of every purchase to help end childhood hunger; the brand debuted in September 2026. It starts with hens raised right—in pastures with outdoor access and humane care as the standard, not the exception. But the eggs are only half the story. Every carton helps support food for a child who might otherwise go without on the weekend. That’s the good we’re here to grow and it makes Two Birds eggs good in more ways than one.
